Becoming BYU
This has been a true passion project—over two years in the making and still going strong.

My student council team conducted dozens of interviews and focus groups to discover a deep desire amoung the student body: universal belonging. So, our student council team set out with goal: to help every student feel like they belong. We wanted to smash the narrative that you need to be tall, white, and from Utah to fit in as “BYU” material.

The platform “Becoming BYU” is a university-wide initiative, championed by our university president, that calls us to live up to our divine potential as children of God. Our campaign shows that while we are unified in our aims on campus, we are also richly diverse. We’re not a melting pot—we’re a mosaic.

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned how to collaborate with stakeholders, navigate pushback, and stay committed to something I truly believe in. And we actually did it! We launched a series of posters across campus featuring real students, each with a QR code that lets you dive deeper into their stories.
